Golden Retriever - Medium - Young - Female - Dog - Lexie
Description
Two year old Lexie had a very rough start to life; she was left outside without much human contact. When rescued she had heartworms and intestinal parasites, but after many months she is now healthy and very happy to be a house dog. Lexie is a petite beauty at 50 pounds. She is housetrained and crate-trained, and loves to lay on her dog bed! She has a great fondness for Nyla-bones, and is learning to play with other toys. She walks well on a leash but pulls at times, and does very well in a car. She has good house manners and does not climb on furniture. She is learning to come at command but this still needs work, and other commands are beyond her ability at this point. Lexie is very shy and leery of strangers, and will start at sudden or unfamiliar sounds. However, she has learned that people can be very kind and loving, and often seeks affection from her foster mom. She loves other dogs, especially her foster brother and sister. Lexie needs a home with a secure fenced yard and another dog that will play with her, and someone home most of the day. Her ideal family will have grown or older children who will understand her needs. She is a very sweet girl deserving of a loving, patient, family!
