SANDY 8-year-old spayed female Let me introduce you to Sandy. Sandy is 8 years old, and came into her foster home about 2 months ago. At first she was not happy to be in this new place. The permanent Golden resident, Maggie, wasnt sure why we brought this dog into HER home. It took a week or so, but they are inseparable now. Sandy is a real love bucket. When we come home, she can not get enough attention. She just wines and nestles up against you until you pay attention to her. Her foster parents have 5 grandchildren ranging from 1 to 5 years old. When they are at the house, Sandy has to be wherever they are. We still watch her with them, as she is not happy when they sit on her and pull her hair; but overall she does well with them. Sandy is on an anti-seizure medicine. She has not had a seizure in about 3 years, and the vet has considered taking her off the medicine. This is something that will have to be considered by her adopters with their vet. She also has some arthritis in her rear legs that she takes medication for, and has a hard time with steps and getting up on hard floors. As a result, she would be better off in a one story home, although she sleeps downstairs in her foster home just fine. She used to cower when we would reach to pet her (we dont really know too much about her background). But today, her foster family strokes her face and kisses her muzzle, and she has learned to kiss back (we spoil our Goldens-Imagine that!). She would love to be in a home where someone is at home all the time; but she does great in her foster family also where both parents work. She will follow you everywhere, and wants to be with you all the time. If you love on her, she will be your best friend. She is a delight!
