Hi, my name is CHU WEI & I am an adorable, purebred, Pekingese. I am approximately 2 maybe 3 years old (this is based on the low amount of tarter found on my otherwise perfect little set of white teeth). My vet, Dr. Hickey, at Short Pump Animal Hospital says that I am in perfect health, other than I am in treatment for low positive heartworms. The exact term is Direct Negative, which means that all he found was all adult heartworms--no larvae--so they are not repopulating (the heartworms are all males) as my foster mom put me on heartworm preventative, immediately. I have been neutered, up to date on shots and am housebroken; provided you take me out when I need to go to the bathroom. I will be available for adoption in October as Dr. Hickey & my foster mom are working to make certain that I am heartworm negative before I leave her care. I love being held & kissed but do not like kitties so Id be happier in a household without them. I also need a home that understands the Pekingese personality & grooming needs. We need to be brushed & groomed regularly as we do shed. I also love to go bye-bye in my crate & I love to play with other dogs, provided they let me be boss. Yeah, I am a little on the Alpha side, so again a home that understands the Peke personality, who would consider taking me to Doggie U, so we have a good understanding, will find me a wonderful new addition to their home. I really want to be your baby & to get to sleep with you. I like gentle, older, mature, kids that know how to treat me with respect & not hurt me. My adoption fee is $350.00 & I am available through Central Virginia Shih Tzu Rescue, Inc., a 501c3 organization.
