Description

Miniature Pinscher - Small - Adult - Male - Dog - Pete
Description
I know I am not as young as other dashing guys and gals looking for that perfect family, but I do have many excellent attributes. For starters, I am handsome! My fur is slick and shiny not like it used to be. My tail is cropped but my ears arent, another reason Im irresistible. I love to cuddle up next to you and get lots of petting and I love to sleep in the bed at your feet to keep them warm. I do sleep in my own bed, too, at other times. When I get excited, I talk and sing and my whole body wiggles and shakes! I love having my fur brother and sister around to keep me company during the day when my humans are at work so I dont get lonely. At my first home, I had fur family, too, but my human passed away and we had no one else to take care of us, that is, until Friends of Penny came to our rescue. I love my foster home. It has a nice big yard I can run in though I dont run very fast. I love the warm sunshine but really dislike the chilly winter weather. It makes me shake. I have a nice sweater to wear but it only helps so much. Toys dont interest me so much, but there is this rope thing my humans got me with this awesome bone attached to it! I like to chew on that. I could go on and on about me. But Ill let my human talk about me now. Pete has been living with my husband, myself and two other min pins for about two months. He is the absolute sweetest pooch! After the initial get-to-know-you sniffs, he responded very well to our dogs Kali and Shortcut. At first his coat was dull and grungy, but with a change in diet (Blue Buffalo) his coat is nice and slick. He is older, so it is hard for him to jump high and he uses caution when climbing stairs. He wouldnt do well in a small child environment as he does not like quick, uncertain movements and may snap if his hind quarters are touched in the wrong way. He is on bladder support supplements and hip and joint supplements with his food daily, which has greatly improved his mobility and bladder control. He has learned to use a puppy pad and has started to let us know when he needs to go outside. He is fully vetted and is heartworm free, on preventative, and microchipped. Pete sleeps in the bed with us under his own blanket at my feet. He doesnt tend to bark at the drop of a hat like the other two but would look to scoot out of the gate if you arent paying attention to how fast you close it. He smiles when you scratch him, and laughs when he is really happy. What a wonderful fur companion to have to love permanently! For more information on Pete e-mail lisa@rescueminpins.com
