Cockatiel - Small - Adult - Male - Bird - Pika and Pixel
Description
Pika and Pixel are a male Cockatiel and female Budgie pair who were given up due to a divorce in the family. Both birds in this odd couple are sweet and friendly. If you sit down next to their cage with some food they will usually come over and sit on you to share it. Careful though, or they will jump right onto your plate! Pika can whistle a few things, such as the Andy Griffith song, and say a few things like "Whatcha doin?". He also likes to sit on people's heads and preen their hair. He's afraid of hands, but when worked with consistently and with patience, he loses his fear. Pixel is an adorable, feisty little yellow parakeet who is always having adventures, destroying her toys, and eating tons of vegetables. Given proper motivation she is happy to hop onto your hand or lap and hang out for awhile. Pixel is one of those budgies who seems to have nine lives. She's gotten into a few accidents which should have been the end of her, but instead she just keeps right on going. One of her wings droops a little bit due to one of her big adventures, but she doesn't let it get her down. However she will do best in a home where she can remain safely flighted with someone that will keep an eye on her in case arthritis sets in as she gets older. Pika and Pixel make an amazing pair! They are always lots of fun to watch and listen to! They love to be out of the cage, fly around, play on their play gym, hang out together, preen each other, and feed each other. If given the right attention they could become even more friendly and tame, but still be happy to entertain themselves while you're away. Potential adopters must be prepared to give them healthy food, lots of toys, tons of space to play, and a minimum cage size of 21" by 30".
